Making a Plan
Establishing some guidelines and expectations at the beginning of your project will help ensure a timely and successful completion.
Some good question to ask yourself are
- Who is the audience for the project?
- What is the expected depth and scope of your research?
- How long does the paper or presentation need to be?
- How much time do I have to complete the project?
- What types of information sources can I use?
Clarify expectations with
- Your instructor - about topic selection, methods, sources, timeline, presentation format, etc.
- A librarian - about selection of resources; availability of resources; efficient use of resources; costs; timelines.
- Peers or co-researchers - about individual responsibilities; due dates; timelines.
